There seems to me to be a lot of sense in the official Sith Code, at least the way I interpret it. My understanding of it is:

The idea that peace is a desirable spiritual and emotional goal is a lie, designed to prevent us from fulfilling our true potential, designed to cause us instead to try to conform to others' wishes.

Rather, we should seek a path which seeks to achieve our own desires. This is harder than it immediately sounds, because in order even to start looking for the path, we have to understand what we truly desire most. By this, I don't mean the simpler impulses (eat,sleep, hit that guy over there who's winding me up), but more fundamental things. To find them needs a lot of self knowledge, to break past what-other-people-told-us-we-want, and what-society-told-us-we-want.

Having decided on our goal, we should choose the method of gaining them which will most benefit us, ignoring other considerations.

We should use our passions and our emotions to give us spiritual strength and the insight we need; we should nurture our anger and hatred like living things, so that they can burn inside us and sustain us. By doing so, we will obtain the power to reach the goal we have chosen.

Sorry if that didn't make much sense, it's hard to put into words.

I follow a code of my own design that is basically a fusion of the two most common ones with my own thoughts mixed in. Neither of the two codes never seemed to be quite enough so I decided to make a new one. The finished product just feels right. Only thing really relevant to everyday life in the code is that I wont ever let anyone control me in any way, and I try to gain more power when ever possible

Knowledge is power. To gain knowledge one must question, seek the truth. Jedi are so blinded by the light that they cannot see the truth and accept what they are told without question. From the shadows Sith have the opportunity to see the truth. However, the truth can easliy be obscured and hidden by darkness.

Be cautious harnessing your anger and hatred. The Force has a nasty way of snapping back like an elastic band. As long as you have control of an elastic band you are safe. However, if your finger slips it will hit you in the face with the same amount of energy you put in stretching it.

The Jedi also seek knowledge. The difference between Jedi and Sith is simply the purpose behind seeking whatever knowledge one may be seeking. I agree that knowledge is power.
Take Anakin for example. The knowledge he sought was to save his wife, Padme. Selfish in the eyes of the Jedi, not so in the eyes of the Sith. Darth Bane sought knowledge from Darth Revan, to destroy the old, weak Sith Order.
I also think that using emotions should be a balance. Use anger and rage to fuel strength, but hold some back as not to lose control. Let the emotion lie just beneath the surface, impossible for others to see where you are drawing your power from.

Ok have ago with this

Power is everything
To get power you must
Find the desire for power
Work out the path to getting there
Find your advantage
Have no mercy
Exploit everything
But do not let them see you as a threat
Be quick (the more time they have the more likely they will counter you)
Cover your tracks
Work out how you will get more power
As power is everything

This works for me

Darth J'Zal wrote about being careful with harnessing one's anger & hate. One is only damaged by these if one fears them. If one is channeling these violent emotions to lash out at another, the should do so without any regard for the result. In other words, focus & channel these emotions. Release them to do their work & feel no remorse for what comes of it whatever that may be.

It is the investment in the outcome that brings these volitile energies back home to roost & causes backlashes that effect our lives. Channeling the power of the dark side is cathartic; it removes obstacles from our path & frees us of debilitating situations so we can continue to become to our greatest possible potential. This is the path described in the Sith Code I subscribe to...

Peace is a lie, there is only passion...

Peace is stagnation. It is death. Passion is what drives us to push ourselves to further evolution.

Through passion, I gain strength...

Our emotions strengthen us. Their volitile energies surge within us, strengthenin our bodies, sharpening our wills, & driving us further toward our goals.

Through strength,I gain power...

Power is represented by our ability to master our violent emotions & direct them according to our will without being mastered by them. We act, we do not react. When we strike, it is by our pure, undefiled will that we strike; not out of reactive, petty instinct.

Through power, I gain victory...

Victory comes from the application of our power to accomplish our will. We are not mastered by circumstances, but we direct them to be in agreement with our personal agenda.

Through victory, my chains are broken...

When all has been accomplished, it is then that we must detach ourselves from it & proceed with our path of self-evolution. Attachments to past victories lead to stagnation & delusion. It calls that what we have disposed of in the fires of our gnosis back to burden us again. Enjoy what you create for yourself, but do not be satisfied with it. Constantly seek greater evoluton & gnosis in all things; peace is the second death that brings total annhilation.

Lately I have been traveling the path of science and knowledge. I have been studying both physics and evolutionary biology. I have recently read "Shadows Of Forgotten Ancestors" by Carl Sagan and "Dragons Of Eden" by Carl Sagan. the best was Shadows because Sagan gave all the detailed lab tested results that proved beyond all doubt that evolution is no longer a theory but a fact. Now I know why Sagan stated that boldly in the "Cosmos" series. "Shadows" will empower you in ways that you would never think of. Knowing how the earth ticks is a kind of power. Mot a fanciful and exciting as the esoteric but power none the less.

The Sith code is open to interpretation and has many meanings. For example you may feel today that you are at the apex of understanding the Sith or any other code, then a year on you review your ideas and realise that you have learned so much more (more strings to your bow).

A deeper understanding is very important. You must ask yourself the same question over and over again for at least 6 months before you can say you have an understanding. You must also test your theories as any scientist among us will know it is only theory until tested and tested again - and it works!!!

I like to focus on one aspect/sentence/phrase for at least six months focusing my spare time and meditating on this question. I look out for it in general life in myself and others so that I am able to identify it. Once I get the 'feeling' then I will test it's validity in the real world. I am not afraid to change and adapt my thinking/question as long as I get the result I want that works (which I know is very un-scientific of me). I am also not afraid to discard what I deem of no use. Even if you have spent much time on understanding the principle it is no loss even if you decide to discard it.

For example take 'fear'. Learn academically all you can about what fear represents, its function?, its physiology?, it's negative effects? (do not be fearful of learning the negative aspects of emotions!!) etc. Then explore what does fear mean to you? Are you afraid of heights? Rollercoasters? Public speaking? Spiders? Water? Being Judged? etc. Once you have an HONEST appraisal of your fears then set about conquering each one (easiest to hardest) in small steps to empower yourself. Through out this process practice NLP (Nuero Linguistic Programming) on yourself and positive visualisation. This may take many years to complete but once done you will have grown as a person in both confidence, knowledge and of course personal power and will have little to fear.

'The truth hurts'

- 'Do not be afraid of the truth. But be afraid of lack of knowledge'

This is Darth Nihil replying. This is my version of the Sith Code I was given by my Master...

There is no Guidance:
There is Control;
There is no Unity:
There is Strength;
There is no End:
There is Eternity;
There is no Defeat:
There is Glory.

In the past 3 years since my Master has given me the Code to study, its meaning has started to become clearer; however, with every new Initiate, I have to study it a bit longer before I can reply back to what it all really means. I f anyone knows what it means, just send a new quote, and I will get back to you.
