Check out the scene where anakin walks into Palpatines quarters. Palpatine is examining a red holographic readout. there are 2 sith simbols behind him. one on each side. It is the same simbol from the book about weapons and technology, surrounded by a circle.
If that is not the sith symbol, then what is?

There are two black huge vases behind him. These stood out to me. The fact that there are two could symbolize duality. I remember reading somewhere about some deity holding two vases, despensing both good and evil. I don't recall which deity however.
Or are you referring to something else in the room?

Those arent vases, those are urns.
Look beneath the Urns, on either side of Palpatine, about shoulder height, I think.

I apologize, the sith symbols are not under the urns, but to the outside of the urns. If you step through the scene, you get a few good looks at them.
I am trying to draw it and paste it to the site. It kind of looks like an eye when you draw it.

I take it you have the dvd then? if you can play DVD's on whatever computer you use, then why not pause the dvd at the appropriate point, take a screenshot of it, and outline where these symbols are?
Id do it if i could find where my brother keeps his copy. And if i knew exactly which scene

I drew the symbol that appears in the movie. I apologize for the quality, but I drew it free hand, and im not great at drawing things on the computer

I think i see where you mean now..
the two desk-like things on either side with lamps on them appear to have a symbol on them.
the copy im looking at is a bit blurred, but theres a circle with some kind of design inside them
Glad you could post it DarthDevious.

Yes, come to think of it, I did see that. Your drawing helped me to recall.
A good screenshot program is called Power DVD 5. Try the Best Buy stores. It is about 50 dollars. It will work on any DVD. It took a lot of asking around to find this software.
or just make a "print screen" and save 50 dollars.

Believe it or not, i tried that and it doesnt work. when you save the image, then reopen it, you get a black screen. :-?

Yup, that is what happens with "printscreen" or all the free versions I tried that people recommended.
I had to break down and buy one. This way I get great high resolution screenshots that I can bring into Photoshop.

Dear Darthdevious I liked the drawing of the Sith logo. It happens to look like an American Indian symbol I remember seeing. That is real cool. This would link Palpatine as pro-environment. The American Indians respected the earth and treated the earth and all its creatures with respect. The American Indians understood the balance of nature and the law of preydation.
fellow sith
were, exactly can that suposed sith simbol be found ?
all i saw in the scene you told were lights, and 2 vases, but no sith simbols...

The lamps sit on tables. The Sith Symbol is on the front of those tables, under the lamps.
can someone gimme the exact time when that simbol appears ?
I have a new pc-dvd reading software that makes printscreens.
Let that sith simbol come forth.

I'll see what I can do, but I worry that different dvd players might not represent the time the same.
Look for a later post today.

Seti
I think it is.
Were did you get those images from ?
Darth Devious

Seti, the symbol I found is attached to the front of the table directly under the urn that you posted.
It is the circular symbol that kind of looks like an eye.

You gotta love Wiki! :p
I have not yet found the precise insignia drawn as a graphic yet. I am still looking. The closest graphic is the one I posted above but that seems to be a variation.
Seti
I have searched the star wars visual encilopedia, and that is were from that chalice came from.
as for the simbol, i guess we will never know...

No azazel. the sith symbol is attached to the table directly under the sith chalice. It is right there in plain sight. I even cropped the image and posted it to this thread.
But how do we know that to be the true simbol ?
Darth Devious
05-02-2006, 20:06
Because it is in the movie, in palpatines quarters, I guess.
If you look at it, it kind of makes sense.
It looks like the red circle symbol with the horizontal flames coming out, superimposed upon a 2 dimensional representation of a globe.
I figure, its in the movie, so its endorced by lucas, so its our best candidate.

I agree with Darth Devious. The symbol under the earn is the Sith symbol chosen by Lucas. So it is the best choice. I like Seti I Shadim's coment about how he has too much time on his hands and to many died. All your victums are in the earn, incinerated?" You have done well Lord Seti" ( Palpatine Voice).
The thing i say is, how do we know that, that particular object, is the sith simbol?
i havent seen anything proving it to be, even if it is in Palpatines quarters.
If, for nothing else, the jedi would shurely recognise it.
