It has been a while since I have posted or even logged on, the reason being I rejected the Sith title of Darth feeling unworthy of it and I also felt I couldn't learn much from this site.

However I return with something I wish to ask of the Sith and dark side adepts here.

Are we forged by our destiny or is destiny merely a chain that a sith should break loose of and forge his or her own?

I have my own answer and opinion to the question, I'd just be very interested in knowing others.

I say a sith should definitely be in charge of his own destiny. Break the chains other people have on you, and take charge of your own life.

I have heard arguments for both, free will and determinism. Philosophically, Einstein was a determinist. He felt that ones thoughts and actions were caused by circumstances, etc. Yet, he was the man who was an important part of developing the atomic bomb. He felt threatened by Nazis because he had to flee Germany in a big hurry in 1933. He was motivated to help with the bomb because he felt so threatened by Germany even though he was a pacifist in his thinking. He could have chosen to help make that bomb or he could have just as easily refused on pacifist grounds. His choice determined how history turned out. So the man who believed determinism proved that there is room for choosing destiny, not only your own but the world's.

The one I often think of is the fact that English is spoken in the U.S. and not German because of one vote in the Continental Congress. History would have been a good deal different if we were a German-speaking country.

So, I say, if you see a move that will change destiny, go for it!

You are in charge and can effect your destiny which leads you to your fate
