'Rep' & 'Rep Power' [Archive]

some of you may have noticed these and wondered what it is. In essense, it is the karma/ force power/rating's system we had when on Proboards, with a few differences.
The difference here is that while Rep is the reputation level that has been bestowed upon you by others, Rep Power is how many Rep points you can currently bestow, or remove, from others. Your Rep power will increase on one of the following conditions being met:

For every 30 days, user gain 1 point of reputation altering power
For every 50 posts, user gains 1 point of reputation altering power
For every 100 points of reputation you have, you gain 1 rep altering power
Other Rep conditionals:

You must have a minimum of 5 posts for your reputation giving or removing on others to have any effect
There is a limit of 20 on the amount of rep you can give each day (each click is one rep)
You cannot constantly give one person rep points. You must go through 10 people before you can hit the first person again.

Everyone starts off at Rep 0

For every point of rep you bestow or remove from a user, you lose one point of Rep altering power. Use it wisely

Not entirely sure what you mean but....

If you mean rep power - the number for this represents how many times you can give or remove rep from someone.

It doesnt give you any extra power or abilities, its just a measure of what people think about you

If any of you had given anyone any rep then you may have to do so again, had to rebuild the table as it had somehow set me, seti, and at least one other person to "off the scale" (-1,000,000 rep ) :(

Oops. forgot this earlier...

to add to or remove reputation from a user: (this cannot be done through a users profile)
on each post they make, in the right hand table (that includes the avatar, usertitle, location, etc) there should be a series of buttons at the bottom.
One of these has a tick and an x. click this to add to or remove reputation. You can also specify a reason for this action.

Just for awareness sake, the other button (the one with the exclamation ! in it is used for reporting 'bad' posts. If there is ever one that you feel should be examined by a moderator or higher, please use it to submit a report
