I dont know about trials, but I can recommend reading.
Anything by the author Anton Lavey. He is not associated with starwars, but he does give the philosphy behind evil.
furthermore, any martial arts studies. Any knowledge of arms.
And any knowledge of the application of technology, since tech enhances your personal power. My favorite sith technology are radio scanners. I can hear just about anything at a push of a button, including the activities of the police, and nearby cordless phone conversations.
Anton LaVey is a must read, altought he´s more a satanist, and the sith´s ways are very diferent from that.
I believe that resisting the urge to be "the ever popu-lar, kind and cinema good looking" jedi is a herd enoug trial.
Everyday we get bombarded by "happy toughts" programs ( yes, i believe teletubies are a written and directed by jedi´s), and having enough will to resist all that and see reality as it is, its a good trial.
One good tryal should be getting inside the sith forum and try some dubtfull to join the dark side...the ultimate test.

Do we have any here?
No, to be honest i never saw the point.
I think its better to not have to test people on the aspects/ whatever that make them define themselves as Sith, and not just because there would be far, far too many variables for any kind of testing on the subject to be of any use

Testing people on this forum would not be a good, i believe in that too.

I can understand why its done with those who define themselves as jedi, but i have never been able to understand why some sith sites think its necessary to do so... each and every person defining themselves as sith does so for different reasons, has different ideals, principles, etc.
so unless you wanted them to all be the same, have the same outlook, etc, imo its rather pointless

I know there are no Sith Trials in the ancient (Screen & Expanded) histories. The History of the Sith is a very interesting one. It is believed the ancient Sith where originally a "species" believed to exist somewhere in the "Outer Rim." They were the lords of a great empire the stretched far and vast. They were somewhat of an insectiod race with glowing yellow eyes. A War-like tribal society which worshiped and practiced a power form of ancient Magic. They were a clan like society that build great tomes and monuments to honor their greatest warlords or Darths (which means I believe warrior priest, you folks might know better than I,) and much like the Huns, the Mongols and Turks of old, inconjuntion with a great plague that wiped out a vast number of there worlds, internal conflict and civil war claimed the rest of them.
About 50 to about maybe a full 100 years after this, there was a conflict between Dark Jedi & Light Jedi. We all know that there are but two sides, two perspectives if you will to the Force. Light and Dark. The Light Jedi (Or Ashla Jedi,) of the time felt that the Dark Side (which is referred to as "Bogan" should never be learned of or even mentioned. Not being instructed as to the presence of a Dark Side and or Bogan ways, many young Jedi, (as it was the Jedi way back then,) were dispatched throughout the galaxy for various missions, assignments & postings, they very often while executing their duty would have to enter into defensive/offensive, aggressive negotiations. When in combat, it is natural to experience not just a chemical reaction but also an emotional reaction as. These reactions have a direct result in the success or defeat in combat.
Many Jedi often began to experience an unusual sense of power and command of the Force during combat that was seemingly indescribable and or unknown to he or she. This power seemed to emanate when deep feelings of fear, anger and hate and aggression set during which, unusual Force abilities began to manifest. This power was undeniable, intoxicating enducing a lust for more. These Jedi were not stupid, they began to realize that these feelings, these emotions, desires and passions were not what they were used to, in fact they were the complete opposite. They realized quite quickly that they had just tapped into the Dark Side of the Force!
These Jedi agreed to keep this revolution quiet and began exploring the the Jedi Achieves for materials and texts and what they couldn't find there most set out in the Galaxy searching for materials hope of illuminating the focal centers of this power within ones self and in the Force to harness and dispense at will. These Jedi began to become twisted and evil in thought, foul in deeds. Consumed by an insatiable lust for knowledge and power, the Jedi High Council began to sense a great disturbance in the Force and eventually realized what was taking place. I believe this was the first Jedi Civil War.
As like the Biblical description of Lucifer and his minions that challenged the sovereignty of what was established and known and were eventually put down by God and his Arch Angel Generals and cast out of Heaven, as the dark Jedi challenged the establishment, so were the Dark Jedi put down and cast out of the Order. Like Lucifer, they wandered the galaxy searching for secrets of the Dark Side of the Force, becoming more and more twisted and evil as they began to drift into the "Outer Rim." There they came upon the Sith home worlds, the race the Sith was on the brink of exstinction and had regressed into a barbaric hord. They had no longer had any advanced intellectual properties or recollection of their ancestors lost society, power and command. However; they worshiped the ancient Darth's outside their tomes and temples of old, exsulting them as Gods. Having been warned about ancient magic by the remaining Sith, the tomes were not safe to explore in fear of curses or powerful magics that protect the tomes. The ancient Jedi obviously threw these warning to side of whatever and entered the tomes in search of what they thought were the secrets of the Dark Side of the Force! Ancient writings, scrolls and holocrons were discovered
The Dark Jedi thought they had discovered the secrets of the Force and the Sith thought that the Dark Jedi were Darths come back to reclaim and rebuild the ancient Sith Empire. The two species over time merged and became one producing Sith we know today. Today, the Sith is not a race but a way, a set of ideals for those that believe in ancients ways can follow. They never had Sith Trials or tests to my knowledge, the Fallen Jedi having completed Jedi training and become Sith were the closest thing to formal training. Granted becoming a Sith is basically reprogramming everything you were taught to fit the new ideal.
Now Sith training for a new Sith from scratch, that is something different. I do believe there is a great deal of physical and mental training and disciplines that go in to this and to prove loyalty and obedience, a test is initiated. (Example: Darth Maul, he was discovered by the Sith like Darth Sidious as a child.)
That is what I know of Sith Trials and Training...

Its amazing what the sith know about the sith...
But after all, the jedi´s are more close to become Sith than Sith to return to jedi.
Its funny because i often tought about darth maul, and the fact that he was one of the few, if not the only, non-jedi to get into the sith ranks.

The first part of your reply read strange to me...please clarify? Yes Darth Maul was trained from a - z in the ways of the Sith. Palpatine's history is very, very horrific as to how he became familiar to the ways of the Dark Side.

I have read very few Expanded Universe material, but I did read one Darth Maul book a while back, a journal. He was tested Special Forces style. He was put on some planet where he was hunted down. It was a survivalist situation. It was Sith meets Rambo.
Master Thompson, your history of the ancient Sith sounds like tales of the American Indian and people who go to the old Indian tribal lands to unearth information on their old magical and shamanic practices. Sith magic would likely resemble old Indian ritual and practice, religions of an earlier era. Dark as well as Light was a part of it.

Yes, im sorry, I meant "its amazing what the jedi know about the sith"

I see my Lord and thank you for clarifying,
being of Native American decent I did pick up the similarity quite quickly myself. I agree with you...
As it is well known, the native americans have a special bond with mother earth, so it is fair to say that beeing a sith brings us close to the universal unity than beeing a jedi ?!
