Greetings Dark brothers and sisters.....

I have a question for all who care to read. How many former Jedi are here in this community? Are there more than just me turned away from the light? If so, what has brought you to the Dark to learn this path? For me it was the Darth Bane book, what do you think?

Not my personal case, but i think there is more like you in the forum.

The book was interesting, but I decided on the Sith path even before. When I was more Jedi, back in 1999 or so, I was not online. By the time I got online, I was more in agreement with the Sith. I think it was the happenings in Episode 2. I thought the Jedis were louses for not going to get Anakin's mother. It was their fault that she died.

The other reasons are outside the movie. The Jedi symbolize organized religion. In our galaxy, they are Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and Ralph Reed with their noses in politics. When I think of it like that, of course I am a Sith.

As to Darth Bane (in the new book): Sith to him was a path to freedom from capitalist oppressors. I liked that book because it suggests what one person can do to rise up without the aid of a group. Groups prove unreliable as he saw. I do not take these stories as "gospel," but I do think some writers have an intuitive grasp of certain truths.

Before I used the internet, I was a Jedi. By the time I started reading things on the internet(I hadn't registered at any sites) I was a Shadow Jedi. As I read more on the Sith's points of views I began to see the undeniable logic they held.

As a Jedi I used to help people often because of my compassion, but I started to hate them for never caring, never returning the favor, or pretending like I wasn't there to help. I no longer really hate them, I just dislike them. If I hate something, it is because I have chosen to now.

I was more Jedi like in 1999 and liked Qui-Gon. I fell in Love with Anakin in Episode II and then my feelings were leaning more Sith. Episode III I went with Anakin to the dark side because I understood why Anakin became Darth Vader. I became Mrs. Darth Vader. Darth REAl life also contributed to my journey to the dark side. I am searching for power as does any Sith. Through victory my chains are broken. This line rings real true to me. I like this Sith Code as expressed in the Darth Bane book.

I was a Jedi Master until I saw Episode III. By the time I had walked home from the theater I had turned. "O Fortuna, like the moon you are changeable" (my theme song).

I saw the Jedi for what they were: stoic, brain-washed-to-obedience soldiers doing as they were told without questioning whether their actions were just. They accepted the truth they were given and no longer sought knowledge nor the real truth, like Christians. I cannot live that way; the most important question in the universe is 'why?' (I made a lousy Christian, too).

Siths seek power, knowledge is power, I seek knowledge and truth (truth resides in the twilight between light and dark. I just prefer to look for truth from the shadows with my eyes wide open than to squint in the light--but that's another thread)

Why I became a Sith continued. I learned the hard way that nice guys finish last. Whenever you do a good deed you are punished for your actions. I see the Jedi symbolic as the real bad guys because to support an oppressive governmental system and up hold the statue-quo is bad. To have the false face of rightiousness while being a nest of vipers underneeth is real evel. The Jedi fit this description because they have a good face on but they harm more people than the Sith. Even the Bible says that Jezebel kills more saints than the beast. Who is Jezebel? She is the false church, That is the Jedi in the film. Here it is both Protestants and Catholics. Both are trying to run the world with their republican agenda. It was the christians through the republican party and there most powerfull backers The capitalist. The capitalist are the main controlers the others oppress the masses to help the capitalists keep in power. John saw all this in Revolation because he attacked all three as being part of one Jezebel. The Sith are a judgement against this three headed hiedra. People are free and slave. Today they just hide the chains better. It is in group Vs. out group. The Jedi are in power now. The Sith are poised to take it from them. The Jedi sense this so they are doubleing there persecution of the Sith. But the Sith are promised a resurection so the Jedi are extreamly MAD. What was written in those old Sith scrolls (symbolically read by Darth Bane) are being forfilled and the Jedi see it happening and are mad. They can not stop it because it is predestoned. At one time it was not predestoned and people had a choice but the choice has been made and we are now at the point of no return. The Jedi sense this so they want to silance any Sith that talks about this fact. The old Elephant in the room. Like David Micheals, I have to fight many. I paddle up stream against the entire society. Any who had a christian backround but left the church should know the sugnificance of the one on the outs during the Great Tribulation and the resurection of the army of the dead (EZ 34).

Wow...all I can say is just...wow!

I have NO judgement, none whats so ever. I am just amazed at a few of the responses.

Interesting reads from all and good question to posed.

Master Thompson, I read your "Shades of Dark" thread reply on military indoctrination.

I too went through military indoctrination similar to that which you described. However, as a Jedi I considered myself more of a paladin, which is why I stand by my statement that Episode III portrayed jedi as "brain-washed-to-obedience soldiers" (generic, not specifically USA). Defeat the enemy without knowing who the enemy is and do so without questioning that the enemy must be destroyed, despite the fact that in this case one cannot exist without the other.

Insteresting. What branch of the service to you serve in may I ask?

Though I never considered myself a Jedi I have leaned more toward the Sith after much study and self reflection.

I am more of a shadow jedi then a sith. I know that I can not truly be a jedi because I have far to much hate in me. But I am still trying to learn both ways of the Force, trying to learn all I can. In my opinion it's somewhat narrow minded to just learn one side, when wouldn't you be even more powerful to be able to use both sides?

Navy, but I am USMC trained. The first week of AOCS (think "Officer and a Gentleman") is spent breaking individuals to form a cohesive team. After that everything is geared towards creating aviators--able to react without thinking to the most stressful situations. For that reason only the best of the best USMC DIs were at AOCS.

Remember Palpatine in Episode III told Anakin to balance the force and to be willing to use the dark side not just the light. The Sith master uses both sides of the Force. Do you want to consider being this kind of Sith?
