Darth Sidious, shoulndt we charge the jedi everytime they come here to make the trials ?
I think its only a matter of justice, after all, our teachings dont come for free.
I propose for all the sith to start giving ideas of what to ask in return...

Welcome Jedisusy, I hope you like it here. It is fine to be on both Sith and Jedi sites. I do both but my beliefs are Sith. I also am on U.J.A. so have fun and enjoy learning.
As to chargeing I hope you say that in humor since the Jedi do not charge the Sith who come to their boards. That would seperate people so much the sites will die due to lack of debate.

I might, or might not add one, havent really decided yet. there are some ads on the Archive pages, havent decided about putting them anywhere else either.
the whole point of all that is to at least try to offset the hosting bills, maybe the cost of the license for the forum as well. (you wouldnt believe how much the license, styles, and consecutive years of upgrade permissions cost :shock: )

I can understand that. its not exactly ad-free though... the archive (search engine friendly) half has ads, but ill try to keep the frontend clear of them.

Only issue with a donation link is to implement some kind of reward for those who do so. obviously im not going to give mod/supermod/admin permissions to people who donate, but i have to do something.

how about raising the status of the donator?
right now im "sith apprentice" (pffff), and, if i would donate, i would be promoted to sith marauder, or something like that.
I speak for myself, but, im not here to get rewards, only for the fun.
In this way one could help keeping the forum, have fun, and get promoted.

Yeah, i was thinking along the lines of new, unique-ish title(Sith Lord or something, that isnt available as a normal title), another extra title marking them as a donator/ supporter, maybe also a private usergroup/ few private forums. maybe, cant decide

To me, private forum / usergrup isnt that much interesting, the more crowded the room, the more people we meet.
The personalized title sounds cool, that is something to start with.

Getting back to this (already :S) figured that their is a "subscription" ability within the software anyway, so custom coding something wouldnt be necessary, but as it is i dont think id use that as it appears to expire after a predetermined period of time.
Whatever the outcome on this, i guarantee that there will be more than just a new user title/group for donators. Azazel, i agree with you entirely on the Ad-free point to a certain extent, at this point it would do more bad than it would do good, and a donation scheme of some sort could be better as you would get something out of it.

Edit: The subscription looks unlikely at the minute, itll most likely be a donation system as the subscription's you can purchase are time limited.. not sure yet to what extent though

If it gives you the ability to send a note with your donation, just include your username, and whichever of those titles you would personally prefer to have

Looks ok, but i still have to get a visa card, and, for what i saw, its uk only...
As soon as i get the card, i see how it works, and make my detailed report on it...

It uses paypal, was the only way i could find to do so...shouldnt need a card though... if you have an sccount with them you can add a bank account, but you have to verify thst youre the account owner

dont think paypal works with my bank, but i really need a creditcard, so, i guess i will stick with that one.
