It took me over a year to even begin to master the Adobe Creative Suite.

I see the file list below. This thing takes psd's? Unusual. Photoshop psd's are usually huge fat files and only viewable to those who own Photoshop. Am I assuming correctly that this forum is giving a way to post pictures with your post?

Not exactly...
With this one you can post "attachments" for people to view/download. which can include PSD files, among others. the forum itself doesnt use PSD files in page generation.

Ive never got the hang of those site-building programs, always use a handy text editor, which unfortunately takes longer, you dont generally get the best look, but you can do whatever you want

Why does the smile thing only go in one spot and not where your cursor is? I am trying to put it at the end of this sentence.

im not entirely sure what you mean:???: <-- if you mean those, then you need to click in the text/message box where you want it to be inserted, then click the smile button

I have a sneaking suspicion i know where your going wrong all of a sudden...

Your using the ones at the bottom under the "Post Icons" title.

you should be using the ones to the right hand side of the message/post typing page :)
the ones that have a box round them with Smilies at the top of the box, and [More] at the bottom to be specific

I do not see any of them on the right side for some reason. It is blank.

Dear Darth Sidious
I guess my computer is not working because there are no emotion choices to the right side of this message block either. I also noticed since you changed it from what it looked like yesterday Dec. 23rd our web adresses are not available as with the other. Neither is E-mail icon. It looks like you are aloud a bigger avatar though. Is that true or are looks decieveing?

thats really wierd. they should be just to the right of where you enter text.
I did more than just change the looks, its a completely different forum software.
avatars can be a max of 170*170, 20,000bytes in filesize. Email should still be available, but you might have to go through the individual user's profile to get it. I dont believe it will give you the address though, it should display a form, the contents of which will be sent to the email of the member in question. web addresses *should* still be listed in individual users profiles

Dear Darth Sidious
I tested it. I clicked on my name ( Mrs. Darth Vader ) and a window opened up showing you all the options. It had things like E-mail, web site and ect. You can tell I did not grow up around computer. Thanks.

Just one thing on this new look, the emoticons suck.
Few, no so good looking, and, and maybe its just me, they dont go with the main text...
Ok, this isnt exactly a emoticon kind of board, but the old ones were nice.

They must be well hidden, because i cant see them on "firmamment x"!.
only submit, preview and spell check...

Darth Sidious
12-28-2005, 22:16

I can see a little box here with Smilies at the top and [More] at the bottom.

you sure your giving it enough time to load?

.......

it does have on the left of each one the character string you need to type to get each smilie/emoticon, so it should be *relatively* useful

I am still lost because I still see no emotions choices to the right side of the post squar. On the bottom there are a limited few but it says the icons are disabled. how can I fix it so I can even see the emotion choices at all? I hate to sound dumb but I am still seeing nothing.Did I do something wrong when I signed on this board? I hate to bother you but it is strange to not see something that is supposed to be there.

Darth Sidious
12-30-2005, 00:57
No need to hate it, its what im supposed to do :)
although i have absolutely no idea why they dont appear for you, cant find anything in the admin side that would suggest any reason for anyone not being able to access it.

for the minute, all i can do is to say is to refer to this list (http://forum.sithnet.net/forum/misc.php?do=showsmilies) as it contains all the smilies, and what you can type to use them. Ill keep looking into this though, it shouldnt be happening

I had trouble posting with WYSIWYG editor - no matter what I wrote I always got the error message "1. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters."
Luckily when I switched to basic editor everything worked fine

Darth Sidious
04-30-2006, 23:56
oh? random.. absolutely no idea why it would do anything like that
