Ive got a question, in all the star wars video games and some of the books the Jedi can use healing powers to heal themselves from hiddeus wounds.
I have never seen them do anything like that in the movies so I was just wondering if thats really true or just something to make the games easier. And should the Jedi be able to do it then we could too right?
I supose those powers were provided in the games in order to make the jedi not to die so fast...
I really dont think that the whole meaning od the sith is to have healing powers, for its not according to our ways, but i guess that, in order to make our way easier, we can use those too.

yes but by making our way easier by using healing powers we weaken ourselves right? and that definatly isnt our way. i was just curious what you thought of the healing powers cause i mostly se them as you said a helping hand in the video games

A Jedi would use the Force to heal wounds or injuries within a faster time period. The Jedi would be off of his/her/ feet for sometime but not as long as a normal person.

This would definately be a power useful to either Jedi or Sith. I am sure Palpatine used powers like these to preserve Anakin's life after he found him burnt and dismembered.
Why should the use of the force to heal ourselfs weaken us ?
The force is a never ending power source.
And yes, im pretty shure that Palpatine used it to keep anakin alive .

Empress you are correct...the Jedi and the Sith are virtually identical in most aspects...the Sith believe COMMAND of the Force is the way and the Jedi believe to work together with the Force is the way. Other than a few of the obvious moral and character differences they are alike. The sith would use this power in the same way.
However...
...because of the way the Sith COMMAND the Force, the Sith seem to age faster and experience a faster rate of "living decay" of the physical body. The life span of a Sith Lord is much shorter in comparrsion to a Jedi. The awesome power a Sith Lord can wield is the Force at it's most raw form...this power comes with a price!

Ghm... Do Jedi let the Force command themselves?

Do you mean burn out? Darth Plageous and Palpatine were quite interested in lengthening their lives and apparently had had certain successes.
Or do you mean Sith have a tendency toward fatal attractions...like looking straight into the Ark of the Covenant? It is said (in the Bible anyway) one cannot look straight at God's face and live. Are you saying Sith like to try to do this?

Not all Sith just command the Force. It depends on the Sith in question. I have always said if there is ten Sith in a room than there is ten differant opinions as to how a Sith uses the Force. Palpatine said that Darth Plagueus could save the ones he loved from dying. That sounds like healing to me.
As to Sith liveing shorter because they just control the Force. Well Palpatine is attributed to haveing a long life. Many Jedi seem to just use the Force as well. I have heard little talk about getting to know the Force "socially" so to speak.
The Ark of The Covenant, That will only hurt you if you are devoid of light and are pure ego haveing no spirit inwhich to merge with the Force. A Sith should have both dark and light side since they use both. I wise Sith gets to know the Force as one knows a lover and can fallow its will. Note: devoid of light here does not mean dark side but pure ego, heavy astral stuff that feels like an oil slick. This would be like that of an Ork(Lord of the Rings) or the wallowing Death Eater (Harry Potter books) So Sith do not get lost in the language. This person will die in the second death for there is nothing to merge with the Force, This person is not of the dark side not of the light side but an anti-Force person who wishes to destroy the Force it self. A Sith or Jedi if true would not want to be near these unless it was to lightsaber them in two.
I have a lover in the Force His name is Anakin/ Vader or in eastern Shiva creater, sustainer and destroyer. That is my loveing husband Anakin/ Vader. I also really like Palpatine. The Ark of the Covenant is real cool too! I have felt the Ark on occasions and I like it. I will not cry when I die because over there is FAR superior to here. There is love there and all is communist. Here there is only selfish dog eat dog competition where love is forbidden. Yon.

To reply to the initial question, the Jedi and Sith both have "healing" power in the games. Play either KOTOR or KOTOR 2 and the Sith have a power called Life Drain. It essentially is the same as the Heal for the Jedi, but you siphon life from enemies around you and use their life force to feed your own. I think that killing your enemies to make yourself stronger is far cooler than simply healing.

Yeah, but you can't drain life from droids, do you? Jedi take life out of nothingness, Sith need an enemy (a weak enemy) 'cause it is difficult to drain life from a Jedi (even in games). Sith use some kind of vampirism...

Empress to answer your question: Palpatine had to fall back to using clones to achieve immortality. Vader basically Youthenized Palpatine as Luke Youthenized Vader for both were suffering from physical fatigue after so many years of weilding the Dark Side. Plagues never passed on the secret to enternal life to Palpatine.
In the end, why should a sith try to acheive eternal life if, acordingly to the sith tradition, the master has to be killed by the student in order for the student to become a master.
So, i guess that for the sith the motto should be "live fast, dye as late as you can", for the end is a natural process in the sith way of career.
we can even say that darth vader became a full master when in the end he killed Sidious on the death star..
The sith beeing vampiric...dont agree with that at all. Its too simple a explaination.
And too crude for the ways of the sith.

because, bottom line, Sith are a selfish bunch. from the master's point of view, the only reason he has an apprentice is to do his bidding. This way, if Jedi need to be killed for example, the Sith master does not need to endanger his own life. the apprentice becomes an extension of his will. that is why the apprentice always tries to get someone to join him to overthrow the master. Being a Sith, like being a Satanist, is all about the self. Palpatine put anakin in the suit, not because he had any affection for him, but because a> he needed him, and b> he could not replace him at time. That is why Palpatine arranges the duel between luke and vader in ROTJ, so he can have whoever is the strongest.

If there was a way to live forever on earth, certain Sith might have wanted that.
Sith is an interesting paradox. On one hand the individual Sith is selfish (or fully permitted to be if he/she chooses). On the other hand, the individual Sith serves the cause of Sithdom. Sithdom has its aims and traditions which transcend the individual.

What is living for ever? Is it being immortal or is it becoming a legend. Some one who is immortalized by there actions. So could living for ever be considered becomong a legend?
I guess your right Darth Cassus.
One can be imortalized many ways, but i believe that, to all of us, beeing a legend isnt good enought, we like beeing living legends.

Yes what is better then a living legend. lol.
But, on the other hand, beeing a living legend implies too much knowledge of your actions, and that goes against the sith principle os stealthness.
